Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Feb. 28, 2009) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at Rousby Hall Road and Olivet Road in Lusby on February 21 at 11:14 p.m., DFC Aaron Locke subsequently arrested the driver and passenger, charging both with possession of heroin, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal spoon, cotton swabs, plastic bags, and syringes, and possession of controlled paraphernalia, a hypodermic syringe. Arrested were the driver, Jason M. Mann, 26 of no fixed address, and passenger, Bridget N. Wesberry, 23 of no fixed address.

ALCOHOL VIOLATION: On February 26 at 3:13 a.m. Cpl. Richard Wilson observed a passenger in the parking lot of the Prince Frederick 7-11 convenience store, located at 15 Solomons Island Road, holding an open bottle of beer. He issued a citation for possession of an alcoholic beverage on the ground of a privately owned retail establishment to Nathaniel Carlton Jones, 29 of Lusby.

DUI RESULTING IN CRASH: Cpl. Richard Wilson responded to a motor vehicle crash on Adelina Road between Sandy Point Road and Sixes Road in Prince Frederick on February 27 at 1:00 a.m. He observed a 2004 Jeep Cherokee overturned in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle had been heading southbound on Adelina Road when it swerved into the northbound lane and then back into the southbound lane, striking a guardrail and overturning, coming to rest in both lanes. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. Wilson located the driver, later identified as Josephine Hall Virgin, 21 of Prince Frederick, at her home after a friend of Virgin's had driven her there after the crash. Virgin refused medical treatment. Inside her vehicle, police located suspected marijuana. Virgin was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, 2 cigar tubes used to store marijuana.

DOP: Unknown suspect(s) spray painted graffiti with red paint on the bathhouse building at Seahorse Beach located at 500 Clubhouse Drive in Lusby sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. on February 26. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Aaron Locke at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: A Southern Maryland Oil 120 gallon propane tank was stolen from outside the Dunkirk Domino's Pizza located at 10367 Southern Maryland Blvd. The theft was discovered when the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the business for a gas leak. The theft occurred sometime between February 26 at 11:00 p.m. and February 27 at 10:24 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Michael Naecker at the Sheriff's Office.

DOP: Five mailboxes were knocked down in the 11500 block of Tomahawk Trail in Lusby overnight between February 26 and 27. The damage is estimated at $100. DFC Aaron Locke is investigating.
