LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 27, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On February 26 deputies responded to the intersection of Great Mills Road and Old Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed Aloysius Sylvester Herbert, 44 of Great Mills, was in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Herbert choked the victim. Herbert was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE: On February 27 deputies responded to Club Bounce to maintain crowd control as approximately 100 patrons exited the establishment at closing. A fight broke out in the parking lot and deputies intervened. Shannon Marie Baker, 22 of Lexington Park, became disorderly and attempted to assault another individual. A warrant check of Baker revealed she was wanted by Dallas County, Texas for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to deliver. Baker was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice.
DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE: During November of 2008, Vice Narcotics detectives began an investigation related to Shawn Lorenzo Hicklin, age 27, also known as "T" for distribution of cocaine. Over the following months detectives continued the investigation involving Hicklin which led to the undercover purchases of cocaine. The cases were reviewed by State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz and presented to the Grand Jury. Felony Indictments were issued in the form of arrest warrants. On February 26, 2009 Vice Narcotics detectives, assisted by Calvert County Sheriff's Office K-9 and St. Mary's County Emergency Services Team, executed a search and seizure warrant on a Great Mills residence. Hicklin was arrested on the open warrants. $900 in cocaine, a handgun, and nearly $4,500 in cash was seized. Hicklin is currently awaiting a bond review. Additional charges are pending in this case.
