MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 26, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SHOPLIFTING: On Monday, February 23, 2009 at 6:25 pm, TFC D. Brill responded to the Big Lots store at 21800 N. Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park for a reported theft in progress and two male juveniles being detained. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male employee, 47, of Lexington Park, who had detained two male juveniles, ages 15 and 13, both from Lexington Park. The juveniles were charged with theft under $100.00 and released to their parent pending further action by Juveniles Services.

CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 12:25 am, Marquis Lamont Berry, 22, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for possession of a concealed deadly weapon. Mr. Berry was operating a white Buick Regal on north bound Patuxent Beach Road when he stopped to the rear of TFC Rezza's cruiser prior to the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge. TFC Rezza made contact with the driver, Mr. Berry. He was found to be in possession of a deadly weapon, known as brass knuckles. Mr. Berry was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT, OUTSTANDING WARRANT: On Tuesday, Wednesday 24, 2009 at 9:05 am, Ian Scott Polen, 34, of Killeen, TX was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for 2nd degree assault. Tpr. Adams responded to the 26000 block of Skyview Drive in Hollywood for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 39, also of Killeen, TX. She advised she was assaulted by Mr. Polen. Mr. Polen was taken into custody. A routine check of NCIC revealed Mr. Polen had an outstanding warrant through the Charles County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Polen was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner and transfer to the Charles County Detention Center.

BENCH WARRANT: On Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 4:30 pm, John Frederick Miller III, 44, of California was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13833) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on February 25, 2009. Mr. Miller was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BENCH WARRANT: On Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 5:33 pm, Linda Florine Purvey, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. Hardesty on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-12742) for failing to appear in District Court on March 13, 2007. The original charge on the warrant was for driving on a suspended license. Ms. Purvey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
