MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 24, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

JUVENILES FIGHTING: On Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 6:29 pm, TFC R. Rezza and Cpl. J. Linger responded to the reported disturbance in the front parking lot of St. Mary's Ryken High School in Leonardtown. Upon arrival, two male juveniles, both 15, of Brandywine and Upper Marlboro were observed fighting and taken into custody. A third juvenile, 16, of Washington, DC was taken into custody for hindering the investigation. TFC Rezza was able to separate the parties and transported the juveniles to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing where they were later released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ASSAULT: On Monday, February 9, 2009 at 7:03 pm, Travis Ashley Chisholm, 32, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for Assault 2nd Degree. Tpr. Thompson responded to the reported domestic disturbance in the 21000 block of Spring Wood Court in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the female victim, 28, of Lexington Park. She advised she had been assaulted by the suspect, Mr. Chisholm, who was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 12:47 am, Christina Ann Arnold, 31, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Ms. Arnold was operating a maroon Nissan Maxima when she was stopped for a routine traffic violation at Great Mills Road, east of Point Lookout Road in Lexington Park. A multi-colored glass CDS smoking device was observed in plain view. Ms. Arnold was taken into custody and placed under arrest. A search incident to the arrest revealed Ms. Arnold was also in possession of a small plastic baggie of Marijuana. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 7:52 pm, Jaclyn Cari Ward, 19, of Annapolis was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Ms. Ward was operating a silver Mini Cooper on South Shangri La Drive at Great Mills Road in Lexington Park when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Ms. Ward, a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Ward was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of Marijuana and a multi colored glass CDS smoking device. Ms. Ward was placed under arrest and she was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, DUI: On Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:09 am, William Oliver Briscoe, Jr., 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Briscoe was operating a silver Toyota Camry on Chancellors Run Road in Great Mills when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Mr. Briscoe and an odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. While speaking with Mr. Briscoe, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Briscoe was found to be in possession of a small baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Briscoe was placed under arrest and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing for the DUI. Mr. Briscoe was then transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

SLASHED TIRES: On Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 6:30 am, Tpr N. Gresko responded to the 26000 block of Skyview Drive in Hollywood for the reported Malicious Destruction of Property to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 45, of Hollywood. She advised unknown suspect(s) slashed the four (4) tires on her white 2004 Chrysler 300. Total loss was estimated at $500.00. The investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, OUTSTANDING WARRANTS: On Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2:27 am, Walter Jerome Ford, Jr., 23, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. E. Page for possession of Marijuana. Tpr. Page observed a suspicious looking white Chrysler Sebring enter Lancaster Park off Willows Road in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Ford and a routine check through NCIC revealed Mr. Ford had two outstanding warrants through the Sheriff's Office in Worcester County. Mr. Ford was taken into custody. He was also found to be in possession of three plastic baggies of Marijuana. Mr. Ford was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner and returned to Worcester County.

SUSPENDED LICENSE, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 3:26 pm, Candace Nicole Traas-Harrod, 25, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for Driving on a Suspended License, Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana. Tpr. Adams observed a blue Ford Focus exceeding the posted speed limit on Three Notch Road in the area of Bay Forest Road in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the driver, Ms. Traas-Harrod and a routine check through MVA revealed Ms. Traas-Harrod was driving on a suspended license. She was taken into custody and restrained in Tpr Adams' vehicle. A strong odor of Marijuana was detected and Ms. Traas-Harrod was found to be in possession of three baggies of Marijuana and two baggies containing Cocaine. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.
