Man Found Dead Outside Mechanicsville Moose


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 13, 2009)—Alfred Lee Hoffman, 57, of Mechanicsville, was discovered in an unresponsive state Thursday night around 8:30 p.m. outside the Moose Lodge on Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville. Mr. Hoffman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital by Mechanicsville Rescue Squad where he was pronounced dead.

Police have made a preliminary determination that Mr. Hoffman died from a head injury due to a fall.

The investigation into the death is being conducted by the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI)—a team of detectives from the Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police.
