Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Feb. 2, 2009) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Dep. Ian Umphrey conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Prince Frederick Boulevard near Braschers Blvd. on January 19 around 5:45 p.m. The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Steven R. Schmitt, and passenger, Justin Lee Pagliocchini, 20, both of Prince Frederick, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Both were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a wooden box used to store marijuana.

BURGLARY: A home on 7th Street in North Beach was burglarized sometime between 6:00 p.m. and midnight on January 25th. A Dell V620 laptop and an Olevia 37 inch television, together worth $1250, were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Andre Mitchell at 410-535-2800.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Dep. Frank Winston arrested Alonzo Terrezs, 28 of Lusby, on January 25 at 12:11 a.m. after making contact with him in the parking lot of the Lusby Taco Bell. Terrezs was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Winston charged him with possession of marijuana.

DOP: Three thousand dollars in damage was done to construction equipment owned by Scheibel Construction while it was on the construction site of the new Calvert Middle School on Chesapeake Blvd. in Prince Frederick between January 24 and 26th. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Paul Wood at 410-535-2800.

BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) entered a new home under construction on Duncross Court in Dunkirk sometime between January 28 and 29. The suspect(s) stole a Maytag stainless steel double door refrigerator valued at $2400 and a 10x30 area of hardwood flooring worth $600. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Winston at 410-535-2800.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Sometime between January 28 and 29 in the overnight hours, unknown suspect(s) stole a wallet from a vehicle that was parked outside a home on Redlands Road in Lusby. DFC Christopher Childress is investigating the theft.

DOP: On January 31 Dep. Justin Livingston investigated a complaint of vandalism after a victim on Dant Drive in Owings stated that someone shot his vehicle with what he believed was a BB gun causing $50 in damage. Dep. Livingston will investigate.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Dep. Ian Umphrey arrested three men for drug possession after making a traffic stop on their vehicle on January 30 at 9:15 p.m. on Ball Road and Tupelo Court in Port Republic. The driver, John Tito Jumalon, 19 of Lusby, and two passengers, Jeffrey Thomas Phelps, 19 and Sean Patrick O'Neal, 18, both of Port Republic, were all arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

ASSAULT: Dep. Daniel Deakins responded to the Crooked Eye Bar located at 8323 Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach on January 30 at 1:47 a.m. for the report of an assault. The victim advised that a patron of the bar, later identified as Daniel William Martin, 41 of Dunkirk, had allegedly been annoying other patrons and was asked to leave. Once outside the bar Martin allegedly pulled a knife on the victim and put it to the victim's throat, causing a superficial wound. Approximately 30 customers of the bar had also come outside before Martin was subdued by the victim and an employee of the establishment. Deakins arrested Martin and charged him with first degree assault.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On January 31 at 1:58 a.m. after being stopped for a traffic violation, Arthur Travis Briggs, 28 of Port Republic, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana by Dep. Jason Dean. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass pipe and a silver canister crusher, used to process marijuana.

POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE: On February 1 at 12:30 a.m. Cpl. Vladimir Bortchevsky conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Hilton Hotel on Dowell Road in Solomons. The driver and passenger were both found to be in possession of a suspected drug, methamphetamine. Cpl. Bortchevsky placed both subjects under arrest and charged each with unlawful possession of a schedule II drug, methamphetamine, in sufficient quantity to indicate intent to distribute same and possession of methamphetamines. The driver is a 16-year-old male from Lusby who was charged on a youth report. The passenger is identified as Sean Keith Hope, 18 of Lusby.
