MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 29, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 8:55 am, Eric Braden McKenney, 32, of Colonial Beach, Va. was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana. Mr. McKenney was operating a green Dodge Dakota northbound Three Notch Road in Hollywood when he was stopped at Mervell Dean Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. McKenney, a moderate odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. McKenney was found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. McKenney was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:55 am, William Joseph Coleman, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for Possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Coleman was operating a green Chevrolet Malibu on Hollywood Road when he was stopped at Old Hollywood Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Coleman, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Coleman was found to be in possession of a small baggie of marijuana and a multi-colored glass CDS smoking device. Mr. Coleman was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

11 Y/O ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING MOM: On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 5:38 pm, Tpr. J. Gibson responded to the 23000 block of Rosewood Court in California for the reported Assault in Progress. Contact was made with the female victim, 30, of California who advised she was assaulted by her 11 year-old daughter. The daughter was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. She was later released to her mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Friday, January 23, 2009 at 9:12 am, Derek Allen Miles, 32, of Waldorf was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for possession of marijuana. Mr. Miles was operating a silver Honda Accord on Three Notch Road in Hollywood when it was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit in the 42000 block of Clover Hill Road. Upon contact with Mr. Miles, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Miles was found to be in possession of 18 partially burnt marijuana cigarettes. Mr. Miles was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

CAR MIRRORS STOLEN: On Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 4:35 pm, a female victim, 24, of Lexington Park telephoned the Maryland State Police in Leonardtown and reported to F/Sgt J. McCauley that she was at the Green Door Bar in the 18000 block of Point Lookout Road in Park Hall last evening, January 23, 2009. When she left the establishment she discovered that unknown suspect(s) had broken off and stole both outside mirrors of her green Toyota Camry. There were no suspects and no further information was provided. The investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 3:46 pm, Richard James Rhodes, 37, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Rhodes was operating maroon GMC truck when he was stopped on St. Andrews Church Road south of Indian Bridge Road in Leonardtown for not being restrained by a seatbelt. A routine NCIC and MVA check revealed Mr. Rhodes had an open warrant through St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and his driving privileges are revoked in Maryland. Mr. Rhodes was taken into custody and placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Rhodes was in possession of a blue/silver CDS smoking device containing marijuana, a plastic zip lock baggie containing marijuana and smoking screens. Mr. Rhodes was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2:59 am, Sherman Deavon Bush, 34, of Lexington Park was arrested by Cpl. M. Laney for possession of cocaine, marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Bush was a passenger in a green Acura Integra when it was stopped on Suburban Drive off Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the passenger, Mr. Bush, a small plastic baggie of marijuana was observed in plain view on the floor by Mr. Bush's foot. Mr. Bush was taken into custody and placed under arrest. Once at the Detention Center, Mr. Bush was found to also be in possession of cocaine concealed in his left boot. Mr. Bush was held at the Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MAILBOX DESTROYED: On Monday, January 26, 2009 at 5:01 pm, TFC K. Lashley responded to the 19000 block of White Oak Farm Lane in Valley Lee for the reported malicious destruction of property to a mailbox. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male victim, 35, of Valley Lee who advised unknown suspect(s) smashed his mailbox and left a note, "HA HA I GOT YA." He advised the damage was done between January 25, 2009 at 8:00pm and January 26, 2009 at 6:00 am when he left for work. The investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Monday, January 26, 2009 at 6:44 pm, Nathan Woodson Brown, 21, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. Moore for possession of marijuana. Mr. Brown was operating a red Buick Riviera on Willows Road in Great Mills when he was stopped on Lilly Lane for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Brown, marijuana was observed in plain view in the vehicle, on the passenger seat and floor board. Mr. Brown was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 1:44 am, Joshua Phil Spalding, 28, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of marijuana. Mr. Spalding was operating a black Jaguar X16 and was stopped on Point Lookout Road just north of Great Mills for a traffic violation. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Spalding does not have a driver's license and was placed under arrest and taken into custody. Mr. Spalding was found to be in possession of a small baggie of marijuana. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BENCH WARRANT: On Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 9:10 pm, John Alan Goshorn, Jr, 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13775) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on January 6, 2009. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Mr. Goshorn was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BENCH WARRANT: On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 3:00 am, Jason Arthur Siebert, 30, of Ridge was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13726) for Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation. The original charge was Driving While Impaired. Mr. Siebert was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ARREST WARRANT: On Friday, January 23, 2009 at 12:55 am, William Harley Hephner, 26, of Prince Frederick was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13792) issued by the District Court in Charles County on November 28, 2008. The original charge was Theft under $100.00. Mr. Hephner was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BENCH WARRANT: On Friday, January 23, 2009 at 3:20 am, William James Kolton, 44, of Valley Lee was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13312) for Failing to Follow Condition of Probation. The original charge was Driving While Impaired. Mr. Kolton was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
