LA PLATA, Md. (Jan. 22, 2009) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) on Wednesday released the following incident and arrest report.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On January 21, 2009, at approximately 0056 hours, Trooper M. Bonczewski was on routine patrol traveling southbound U.S. Route 301, south of Smallwood Drive when he observed a red Chevrolet Malibu with the rear tag light out, operated by a driver who was not restrained by a seat belt. Trooper Bonczewski stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Cornalle Robert Dious, 19, of Upper Marlboro, and his passenger, Garnell Vincent Lucas, 18, of Upper Marlboro. Upon making contact Trooper Bonczewski smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Dious and Lucas were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
