LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 20, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT: On Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 8:00 am, Tpr. E. Page responded to the 21000 block of Liberty Street in Lexington Park for the reported theft from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 21, of Lexington Park, who advised unknown suspect(s) stole her purse from her green Toyota Camry. Investigation continues.
THEFT: On Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 12:35 pm, Tpr C. Evans responded to the Belk Store, 23415 Three Notch Road in California for the reported Theft under $100.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the loss prevention manager at the store, who advised Lindsay Marie Wolfe, 24, of Leonardtown was stopped for the theft of a Danecraft 24 kt. gold necklace and a pair of Kim Rogers silver earrings. Ms. Wolfe was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for theft under $100.00. She was issued a criminal citation and a preliminary inquiry date of January 30, 2009 and released at the scene.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11:40 pm, Gerald Dennis Kiley, 26, of Waldorf was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kiley was operating a green Ford Explorer when he was stopped at Three Notch Road and Thompson Corner Road, in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Kiley was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device with marijuana. Mr. Kiley was issued a criminal citation for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia with a preliminary inquiry date of February 6, 2009. He was released at the scene.
THEFT: On Friday, January 16, 2009 at 1:13 pm, Tpr. E. Page responded to the Family Dollar in the Leonardtown Centre for the reported theft. While responding to the theft, a lookout was given for primer gray Chevrolet truck leaving the store and heading south on Point Lookout Road. The vehicle was located and stopped on Point Lookout Road at Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown. Contact was made with the operator and the passenger, John Fitzgerald Butler, 44, of Leonardtown. Mr. Butler was in possession of a bag of Hershey's candy, valued at $2.92 which he had stolen from the Family Dollar. An employee of the Family Dollar was able to identify Mr. Butler and he was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with theft under $100.00 and incarcerated pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 7:00 am, Tpr. E. Page was patrolling Three Notch Road, in the area of Exploration Park Drive in Lexington Park when he stopped a gray Saturn for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the female juvenile driver, 17, of California and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. The juvenile was arrested for DWI/DUI. A search incident to the arrest revealed she was in possession of a cellophane wrapper containing marijuana and a blue and silver metal CDS smoking device. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed and later released to her mother pending further action by Juveniles Services.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 4:18 pm, Kathleen Elizabeth Fisher, 21, of Manassas, Va. and Willie James Wright Alston, 21, of Fairfax, VA were arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Alston was operating a blue Ford Crown Victoria on northbound Three Notch Road in Hollywood when he was stopped at Beck Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Alston and a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A marijuana cigarette was observed in plain view in the ashtray and a black case was located in the glove box containing marijuana. Both Mr. Alston and Ms. Fisher were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Once at the detention center, Ms. Fisher was found to be in possession of marijuana on her person. Both were charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 3:21 pm, Rick Lee Hawkins, 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13545) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on August 1, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Hawkins was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, January 16, 2009 at 7:15 pm, Lacoshia N. Johnson, 24, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. Stern on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13458) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 12, 2008. The original charge on the warrant was Possession of CDS - marijuana. Ms. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, January 16, 2009 at 8:28 am, Michael A. Smith, 19, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13690) for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $100.00 by August 4, 2008. Mr. Smith was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, January 16, 2009 at 8:40 am, Claudia Yvonne Gray, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13782) for Failing to Appear in District Court on January 9, 2009. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Ms. Gray was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 8:15 am, Ian Michael Nelson, 25, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13776) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on January 8, 2009. The original charge was Driving uninsured vehicle. Mr. Nelson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
