MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan. 8, 2009) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FRAUD: On December 31, 2008 at 12:00 pm, Trooper R. Cavill responded to a reported fraud incident in the 3400 block of Daphine Court, Owings, MD. Investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) had charges items to the victim's bank account. Investigation continues. POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On December 31, 2008 at 10:40 pm, Trooper M. Haut was on routine patrol. Tpr. Haut observed a suspicious vehicle in the Central Square Shopping Center. Upon approaching the vehicle, Trooper Haut detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The driver, Jarvis L. Keemer, 19, of Lusby, was charged with possession of marijuana and subsequently transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

POSSESSION OF CDS PARAPHERNALIA: On December 31, 2008 at 11:29 pm, Trooper First Class C. Dawson while patrolling in the area of northbound Route 4 at Route 2, stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. While conducting the traffic stop, TFC Dawson observed a small amount of suspected CDS on the center console. The driver, Corey T. Sanville, 20, of Chesapeake Beach, was charged with possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was subsequently transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

BURGLARY: On January 1, 2009 at 0:15 am, Trooper First Class A. Merkelson responded to the 3200 block of Burgess Rd., Chesapeake Beach, for a reported burglary. Investigation revealed a 42" flat screen television has been taken from the residence. Investigation continues. POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On January 1, 2009 at 5:08 pm, Trooper First Class C. Dawson initiated a traffic stop at Route 2 and Dalrymple Rd. Upon approaching the vehicle TFC Dawson detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Subsequently the driver, identified as Robert A. Grenier, 19, Chesapeake Beach, was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, THEFT: On January 1, 2009 at 5:14 pm, Trooper First Class S. Johns responded to the 1000 Block of Myrtle Lane, Lusby, for a reported destruction of property and theft. Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence sometime between December 21, 2008 and January 1, 2009. The French doors had been damaged with significant pry marks and items were removed. A portable shed also had the door removed and the locking mechanism damaged. Investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On January 2, 2009 at 12:00 pm, Trooper B. Laziuck responded to the Olympus Gym at the Dunkirk Shopping Center, regarding a theft from vehicle. Upon Trooper Laziuck's arrival, it was noted that sometime between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm, unknown suspect(s) entered a locked vehicle breaking the passenger side window and removed several items. There are no suspect(s) at this time. Investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

THEFT: On January 2, 2009 at 3:42 pm, Trooper K. Donaldson responded to Dodd/Miller Eye Associates in Prince Frederick for a theft call. Trooper Donaldson was advised that a subject, posing as a Public Works employee, had stolen cash and two personal checks from a metal lock box. There is no suspect at this time. POSSESSION OF CDS: On January 2, 2009 at 6:31 pm, in the area of Brickhouse Rd. and Ward Rd., Dunkirk, Trooper K. Donaldson stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver, identified as Samuel Joel Boerckel, 19, of Dunkirk, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. A search incident to arrest, revealed suspected cocaine/oxycodone in a straw. Boerckel was subsequently transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On January 3, 2009 at 7:55 pm, Trooper K. Donaldson responded to the 9200 block of Blue Sky Ct., Owings, for a report of destruction of property. Upon Trooper Donaldson's arrival, it was noted that the front yard had tire marks on the grass and a tree had been damaged. Resident owner observed the damages being done by a white female driving a gold Dodge Stratus. After obtaining the vehicle information, as well as other investigative information, Trooper Donaldson responded to a residence at 3900 6th St., North Beach to continue his investigation. Subsequently, Michelle L. Barbieri, 45, of North Beach, was arrested and charged with multiple traffic citations for leaving the scene of an accident and also charged with the destruction of property.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On January 6, 2009 at 8:04 am, Trooper First Class A. Merkelson was dispatched to a residence on the 1200 block of Prince St., Dunkirk for a reported domestic assault. Investigation revealed that there had been a physical altercation between Michelle M. Lyons and her husband, Robert D. Lyons in which the husband assaulted his wife. TFC Merkelson observed injuries to the victim and she was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Robert Lyons, 37, was arrested for assault and was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.
