MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 30, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, December 22 at 10:12 pm, Leslie Anne Brown, 23, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC C. M. Evans for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Alprazolam. TFC Evans responded to Mechanicsville Road, east of Carpenter Drive in Mechanicsville for the reported single vehicle accident. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver, Ms. Brown and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. She was subsequently arrested for DWI/DUI. Ms. Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barracks for processing for the DWI/DUI arrest. Ms. Brown was found to be in possession of Marijuana and five (5) Alprazolam pills. She was later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Wednesday, December 23 at 2:27 am, Leon Johnson, 41, of Linwood, PA was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton for Possession of Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. TFC Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on Three Notch Road, north of Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park on a green Jeep for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Johnson, an odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of two (2) bags of Marijuana. He was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THREAT OF ARSON, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On Wednesday, December 23 at 5:22 am, TFC J. Fleetwood responded to St. Mary's Hospital for the reported Disorderly person in the hospital. Upon arrival, hospital personnel directed TFC Fleetwood to Room 9. Contact was made with the suspect, Christopher Scott Lacey, 24, of Lexington Park who was extremely intoxicated, screaming obscenities at hospital personnel and threatening to burn down the hospital. Mr. Lacey was taken into custody and transported to St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, December 23 at 11:45 pm, Cpl. J. L. Linger was duty officer when the female complainant, 45, of Mechanicsville called the Leonardtown Barracks and advised unknown suspect(s) stole both the front and rear Maryland Registration plates (A143490) from her maroon Chevrolet truck which was parked in the parking lot at McKay's Plaza in Charlotte Hall. The tags have been entered into NCIC and the investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, December 24 at 2:45 am, Ashley Nicole Thomas 22, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14201) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 13. The original charge was Driving an Uninsured Vehicle. She was taken into custody in Calvert County and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Thursday, December 24 at 3:35 pm, Tpr. G. A. Thompson responded to the reported Theft of mail which occurred in the 22000 block of Maddox Road in Bushwood. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised she placed an order with Bass Pro Shops for some clothes valued at $80.00 which was shipped Priority Mail and was delivered to the residence on December 23 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm on December 23. Later that afternoon she noticed the mailbox was open and no mail was inside. She contacted the post office and was advised by the postal carrier that her mail and the package were delivered earlier in the afternoon. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results and the investigation continues.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, December 26 at 10:34 am, Terell Devon Swales, 21, of Great Mills was arrested by Cpl. M. W. Laney for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Swales was operating a green Buick LeSabre north bound on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville when he was stopped at Three Notch Road and Commerce Park Drive in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Swales, a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Swales was found to be in possession of Cocaine and Marijuana. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, December 27 at 9:19 am, Justin Robert Quade, 20, of Chaptico was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T314225) for Failling to Follow Conditions of Probation. The original charge was Reckless Endangerment. Mr. Quade was taken into custody at his residence in Chaptico and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $1,000: On Sunday, December 27 at 2:00 pm, the male complainant, 20, of Lusby contacted Sgt. Redmond, the duty officer at the Leonardtown Barracks to report the theft of a chainsaw from his 2003 Ford F-150. The chainsaw was stolen between December 23 and December 26. TFC M. A. Moore made contact with the complainant and was informed his chainsaw was a Husqvarna Model 455, serial # 062501193. The chainsaw was valued at $500.00 and has been entered into NCIC and the investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, December 28 at 9:30 pm, James Michael Farley, 32, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-14232) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on December 4. The original charge was Theft under $100.00. Mr. Farley was apprehended at a residence in California where he was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, December 29 at 12:48 am, TFC E. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Miramar Way in California on a white Pontiac Montana. Upon contact with the driver, Clarnzett Phoentez Weems, 28, of Lusby, a glass CDS smoking device containing Cocaine was observed in plain view as he opened the driver's side door. Mr. Weems was placed under arrest for Possession of Cocaine and CDS Paraphernalia. He was also found to be in possession of a metal spoon containing Cocaine. Mr. Weems was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, December 29 at 8:40 am, Kevin Antionne Makle, 26, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on an Arrest Warrant (T3-14248) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on December 27. The original charge Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Makle was taken into custody at a residence in Mechanicsville and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
