LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 21, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
HOMICIDE BY MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL; NEGLIGENT MANSLAUGHTER BY AUTO: On December 18, George Michael Bowes, Jr. 31 of Hollywood, was served with an arrest warrant and Grand Jury Indictment for the July 25 motor vehicle collision which resulted in the death of Russell Edward Wenzel. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On December 18, Corporal D. Corcoran was investigating a dispute between Kristen Marie Zook, 39 of Lexington Park, and the victim. Investigation revealed Zook deliberately broke the victim's cellular telephone during the dispute. Zook was arrested and charged with destruction of property.
SNOW STORM: From Friday, December 18 at 8:00 p.m. through Sunday, December 20 at 8:00 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to 158 calls for service, including: 55 assist motorist, 38 property damage motor vehicle accidents, and 4 personal injury motor vehicle accidents. The sheriff's office used 5 four-wheel drive patrol vehicles, which operated 24 hours a day throughout the storm.
