LA PLATA, Md. (Dec. 8, 2009) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On December 4 at approximately 1906 hours, TFC S. Murphy was patrolling southbound St. Charles Parkway, south of Demarr Road in White Plains, when he observed a gold Chevrolet with in inoperative front head light. TFC Murphy stopped the vehicle, made contact with the driver, Jerral Wayne Dyer, 36 years of Waldorf. The trooper smelled an odor of marijuana and arrested Dyer. Dyer was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On December 4 at approximately 2203 hours, Trooper B. Sorenson responded to a 911 simulcast about a subject slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle while at a traffic light. TFC J. Edelen was on routine patrol southbound Route 301 at Route 228 when he observed the vehicle. TFC Edelen attempted to make contact with the driver Robert Martin Washington, 3rd, 28 years of Waldorf, when the driver accelerated the vehicle, running the red light. TFC Edelen then activated his lights and sirens. Washington failed to stop until he was boxed in at the Chipotle Restaurant. Washington was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
