PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Dec. 1, 2009)—At approximately noon on Monday, two males wearing hooded jackets carried out armed robberies at two locations in northern Calvert County making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Lee Funeral Home, located at 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Owings and the Sun Trust Bank at 10500 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Dunkirk, were both robbed.
There was one injury to one employee at each place of business. At least one shot was fired while the suspects were fleeing the scene of the Sun Trust Bank, but no one was injured by the shot, say police.
The two suspects fled in a silver passenger vehicle of unknown make or model, toward Ferry Landing Woods. Police say they have not been located and it is believed they are not in the immediate area.
The investigation is being handled by Lt. Steve Jones, Commander of the Calvert Investigative Team.
