MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 12, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:13 am, TFC C. M. Evans responded to the Days Inn Hotel at 21847 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for the reported Disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim, 39, of Lusby. She advised she was assaulted by a male, 43, of Lusby. The investigation continues as charges are pending on the male suspect.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 6:31 am, Joshua Steven Decker, 21, of Park Hall was arrested by Tpr. M. J. Pitcher for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Decker was operating a red Chevrolet Camaro on north bound Three Notch Road when he failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Patuxent Beach Road in California. Tpr. Pitcher initiated the traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Mervell Dean Road. Upon contact with Mr. Decker, a distinct odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Decker was found to be in possession of a partially burnt Marijuana cigarette. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

FORGERY, THEFT OVER $1,000, THEFT SCHEME UNDER $10,000: On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 8:36 am, TFC J. R. Stern responded to the PNC Bank located at 37650 Oak Station Road in Charlotte Hall for a subject being detained for passing stolen checks. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female employee who advised the suspect, Shawn Montgomery Beach, 52, of Hughesville was attempting to cash stolen checks. Mr. Beach had already cashed checks totaling over $1,400.00. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with uttering bad checks, theft under $100.00 and forgery. Mr. Beach was detained at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 9:05 pm, Shane Eric Roberts, 26, of Great Mills was arrested by Tpr. N. E. Gresko on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14195) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 6, 2009. The original charges were traffic related and Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Roberts was taken into custody at a residence on Liberty Street in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 3:35 pm, Robert Garry Jones, 46, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. E. J. Page on three outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-14175, T3-13176 and T3-14177). All three warrants for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on October 29, 2009. The charges on T3-14175 were Driving on a Suspended License, Driving without a License and Attempting to Elude Police Officer by Fleeing on foot. T3-14176 charges were Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Driving on a Suspended License and Driving with the required License and Authorization. T3-14177 charges DWI/DUI, Driving on a Suspended License and Driving without the required License and Authorization. Mr. Jones was served the warrants at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review before the Court.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 3:45 pm, Tpr. N. E. Gresko responded to a 911 simulcast of a male juvenile being disorderly on a school bus at FDR Blvd and Monterey Lane in California. Upon arrival, contact was made with the bus driver who advised a 13 year old male juvenile from Lexington Park was hitting the windows and seat and failing to listen to the driver. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed and released to his guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.
