Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Nov. 10, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

VANDALISM: On Nov. 9 at 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the 2400 block of Old Bailey Court in Waldorf for the report of vandalism. Investigation revealed the victim had just entered his house when he heard the sound of gunshots. When he went outside to investigate, he observed a small passenger vehicle fleeing the area. The victim then discovered two bullet holes in the front of his truck. There are no suspects and a motive is unclear. Officer M. Sokoloff is investigating.

ROBBERY: On Nov. 9 at 8 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Augusta Street in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed the victim was delivering food to an address when three suspects approached, displayed a gun and demanded the food and cash. The victim complied and the suspects fled. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Detective A. Celia is investigating.

VANDALISM/RRE: On November 6 at 5 p.m., officers responded to the 8600 block of Valley Drive in Waldorf for the report of vandalism. Investigation revealed between October 18 - November 6, unknown suspects spray-painted the word Nazi and a Swastika in black spray-paint on the back of a house for sale. In addition, profanity was spray-painted along side a fence adjacent the house. Officers canvassed the area and located evidence which is being processed. Officer S. Duley is investigating.

BURGLARY: Between Oct. 29 - November 11, unknown suspects cut a hole in a fence surrounding the business in the 6500 block of Industrial Park Road in Hughesville and stole engine parts from a boat. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Officer P. McPherson is investigating.

SHOOTING: On Nov. 8 at 1:05 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Hope Circle in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. A preliminary investigation revealed the victim, a 29-year-old male, was in a park waiting to meet someone when an unknown suspect approached and shot him multiple times, striking him in the leg and arm. The victim ran to a nearby house where he called police. He was transported to a hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Detectives are looking into the possibility this was drug-related. Officer C. Walden is investigating.
