LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 26, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
BURGLARY ARREST: On October 22 at approximately 2:30 p.m., BCI detectives arrested David Carroll Gass, age 49, of no fixed address, and charged him with 1st Degree Burglary, Theft over $10,000 and Violation of a Protective Order. Detectives determined Gass forced entry into a residence in Leonardtown and removed property from the victim's residence. Detectives executed a Search and Seizure Warrant on a storage unit, rented by Gass, and recovered the stolen property. Gass was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
BURGLARY: On October 21, Cpl Brian Connelly responded to a burglary in progress on Guenther Drive in Lexington Park. While responding to the call, a lookout was broadcast for a vehicle related to the burglary. Cpl Connelly located the vehicle with assistance from a citizen who observed the vehicle leave the roadway, strike a guardrail and come to rest several feet off the road at Flat Iron and Stoney Court. Cpl Connelly detained the vehicle operator who was identified as Justin Parker, age 20, of Great Mills. A check of the vehicle registration revealed the vehicle (1995 Honda Accord) had been reported stolen a day earlier. A check of the interior of the 1995 Honda revealed property owned by the victim of the previously mentioned residential burglary. Parker was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary (CR-6-202), Theft (CR 7-104), Malicious Destruction of Property (CR 6-301) and Theft of a Motor Vehicle (CR 7-105). Parker was released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT: On October 22, Deputy Melissa Green investigated a Domestic related assault in Lexington Park. The victim became involved in a dispute with the suspect who grabbed the victim and ripped their shirt. The suspect, Megan Ching, age 22, of Lexington Park was arrested and charged with second degree assault. Ching was released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT: On October 22, Deputy Michael Boyer responded to a residence in Sotland to investigate an assault. Deputy Boyer's investigation revealed Keith Savoy, age 24, of Park Hall, became involved in a dispute with a roommate and punched them in the face. Mr. Savoy then made threats to burn the down the residence. Keith Savoy was charged with Second Degree Assault (CR-3-203), Threats of Arson (CR 6-107) and released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
