LA PLATA, Md. (Oct. 20, 2009)—As part of the Charles County government cost savings plan, the administrative offices of the Charles County Government and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed on the following days:

-- Thursday, December 24, 2009
-- Thursday, December 31, 2009
-- Friday, May 28, 2010
The Charles County Landfill and Composting Facility, Billingsley Road, Waldorf and the Pisgah Recycling Center, Route 425 will be open. County officials say curbside weekly yard waste collection and bi-weekly recycling services may be affected. More information on specific recycling schedule changes will be issued.
County officials say emergency operations and essential services will remain in force.
