St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 15, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

TRESPASSING: On October 4, Corporal M. Peacher was patrolling Millison Plaza in Lexington Park when he observed John Theodore Haas, 67 of no fixed address, loitering in the parking lot. Haas was previously served with a notice not to trespass on the property. Haas was in violation of the notice and was arrested for trespassing.

TRESPASSING: On October 05, Deputy S. Kerby responded to the Three Oaks Men's Shelter in Lexington Park for a report of a trespasser. Investigation revealed Lavelle Bernard Miller of no fixed address was on the property after being served on October 4 with a notice not to trespass. Miller was in violation of the notice and was arrested for trespassing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT OF MINOR: On Wednesday October 07 at approximately 1930 hrs, officers from the sheriff's office responded to a residence in the Lexington Park area of St. Mary's County for a reported sexual assault. Members of the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations was contacted and assumed the investigation. Investigation revealed that a 13-year-old female juvenile was sexually assaulted by Josh A. Maddox 37, of Lexington Park. Maddox responded to BCI and admitted to the allegations. He was charged with second degree rape and incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT: On October 07 at approximately 12:10 am, a 41-year-old male victim from Lexington Park was solicited by a known female to purchase alcohol for her while he was walking on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. The two then walked to the Sign of the Whale Liquor store, through a foot path in the woods, where he purchased her the alcohol. When the pair re-entered the path, four black males assaulted the victim by kicking, punching, and knocking him to the ground. They removed money and other items from his pockets. The female and four males then fled on foot. St. Mary's County BCI detectives are currently investigating the incident.

THEFT SCHEME: On October 6, St. Mary's County BCI detectives served Darlene N. Reardon, 24, of Leonardtown, with a criminal summons charging her with Theft and a Theft Scheme. The charges were the result of an investigation into Reardon stealing money from Burch Oil Company while she was employed at the Charlotte Hall Car Wash, between July 20 and 31.

HOME INVASION: BCI detectives are investigating the home invasion and robbery which occurred on October 15 at approximately 2 a.m. in Callaway. Two suspects wearing masks entered a residence and assaulted the male occupant with a baseball bat they found inside the residence after he awoke and confronted them. The suspects took currency from the victim and fled. The victim was treated at St. Mary's Hospital for head injuries.

ARREST FOR ARMED ROBBERY: On October 8 and 9, BCI detectives arrested John Henry Mckee, age 43, of Charlotte Hall, and Aaron Paul Toye, age 46, of Hughesville, for their involvement in an armed robbery which took place on September 24 at the Exxon/Dash-In located at 30100 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall. They were charged with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Felony, and Transporting a Handgun. Both men were being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
