PATUXENT RIVER NAVAL AIR STATION, Md. (Oct. 6, 2009)—The Naval Air Station Patuxent River advises that noise-generating test events are scheduled to take place from Oct. 8 to 22. Ground testing within the Naval Air Station boundaries will take place to assess the capability of a helicopter-mounted sound system during various environmental conditions.
NAS officials say nearby residents might notice increased noise levels during daylight hours due to these test operations. Voice announcements and sounds will be broadcasted from the sound system and may extend beyond the boundaries of the airfield.
