INDIAN HEAD, Md. (Oct. 2, 2009)—On Friday, October 2, at 8:00 pm, the Black Box Theatre in the Indian Head Center for the Arts will present Dezy Walls: entertainer, singer, piano playing people magnet, comedian, playwright.
Dezy is just back from Ireland where he played this summer season. He performed "Kilminchy to Carnegie" his one man musiplay and "Be Kevin Spacey", a zany sketch in which he is joined by his son, Barry.
Dublin born and currently residing in Florida, Dezy is taking his shows all over the States performing at intimate House Concerts as well as Theatres. He loves to see his audiences entertained, happy, laughing. His songs and musiplays are eked out of life's experiences - true stories disguised as lies. Many of them are belly-achingly funny because they reflect the familiar frustrations of life. "Not the Life I Ordered", his two man musical comedy, has been performed throughout Ireland since 2006 and showcased in London's west end. "Amanda" (USA Song Contest winner), the "Stress Management Song" and "It Never Rains in Ireland" are amongst his signature songs.
In the Black Box, Dezy will perform, Kilminchy to Carnegie... a bittersweet symphony of comedy, heartache and courage (written by and starring Dezy Walls): Despite Graham's ambition to perform on the stage of Carnegie Hall, he is perhaps a bit too comfortable playing piano nightly in a little bar in Kilminchy. It takes a dark angel to set him on his journey from Kilminchy to Carnegie and a wise friend to direct him to his destination.
Following Intermission, Dezy will return to the stage with his interactive show, Here's My Plan: "All I Need You to Do is..." Around his hilarious songs, some of which you'll think he stole from your life story, Dezy weaves a plot... a plot about a plan... a big plan and you're part of it... All he needs you to do is... "This interactive show is 'rockin in your seats' entertainment."
