MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 14) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, September 1 at 12:30 pm, Robert Leroy Armstead, 65, of Alexandria, VA was arrested by TFC R. B. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-11448) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 10, 2005. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Mr. Armstead was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, September 4 at 9:07 pm, Troy Lamont Herbert, 29, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. B. Adams on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14097) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 28. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License and Seatbelt Violation. Mr. Herbert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, September 8 at 1:30 pm, Charles Edward Earl Jr., 27, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14101) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 4. The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Earl was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, September 9 at 5:50 pm, Junieshia Lovanna Curlin, 20, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. J. Pitcher on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13635) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on October 1, 2008. The original charge was Malicious Destruction of Property under $500.00. She turned herself in at the Leonardtown Barrack. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 am, Tpr. J. S. Gibson responded to the 46000 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park for the reported Theft from Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 38, of Lexington Park who advised unknown suspect(s) broke the passenger side window to his gold Pontiac Montana van between the hours 10:30 pm on September 9 to 5:55 am on September 10. Taken from the vehicle was a Crown Royal bag and a Planters Peanut can both filled with quarters. The victim advised approximately $175.00 was taken. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation continues.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, September 12 at 12:51 am, Mitchell Lee Kimball, 20, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kimball was operating a red Dodge Caliber on Mechancsville Road, in the area of Thomas Lane in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with Mr. Kimball, an odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Kimball was found to be in possession of a multi-colored smoking device containing Marijuana and a clear plastic bag of Marijuana. Mr. Kimball was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY UNDER $500: On Saturday, September 12 at 3:02 pm, Tpr. B. Wiesemann responded to the 29000 block of Birch Circle in Mechanicsville for the reported Malicious Destruction of Property to a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 42, of Mechanicsville who advised unknown suspect(s) shot a BB gun at the victim's blue Ford truck. There were three marks on the driver's side of the vehicle consistent to that of a BB gun. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation continues.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 pm, Tpr. B. Wiesemann responded to the Potomac Speedway at 27963 Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville for the reported Theft from motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 37, of La Plata who advised unknown suspect(s) broke out the passenger side window on his 1989 Dodge van and stole a prescription bottle containing 59 Oxycotin pills. Nothing else was taken from the vehicle and the investigation continues.
