St. Mary's County Fair to Feature Songs About So. Md.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 12, 2009)—Nearly a dozen singer-songwriters will be performing original songs about southern Maryland at the St. Mary's County Fair this year as a part of the ongoing celebration of Maryland's 375th Birthday.

The concert will on Saturday, September 27, at the fairgrounds, and will begin just after the Fair Parade ends. The singers will be performing on the parade reviewing stand, located in front of the Auditorium.

The preliminary list of artists includes: Joe Norris, Gary Rue, Krys Baker, Patty Dorsch, Scott Harshna, Catfish Joe, Ben Connelly, David Flood, Lissie Deere, David Norris, Robin Guyther and Carol Schachter. The songs scheduled to be performed are written in traditional, contemporary, and humorous veins.
