MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 10) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, August 27 at 6:32 pm, Jesse Arnold Tippett, 28, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. R. L. Jackson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14088) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 21. The original charge was Driving without a License. Mr. Tippett was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, August 27 at 10:17 pm, Javarus McWilliams Swallows, 22, of California was arrested by Tpr. G. A. Thompson on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13936) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on May 6. The original charge on the warrant was Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Swallows was apprehended on a routine traffic stop on Patuxent Beach Road and Kingston Creek Road in California. Mr. Swallows was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, August 30 at 9:00 pm, Johnathan Christian Gardner, 18, of Charlotte Hall was arrested by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-14061) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on July 24. The original charges were Assault 2nd Degree and Threat of Arson. Mr. Gardner was taken into custody at his residence in Charlotte Hall and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, August 31 at 7:21 pm, Sarah Ann Babuchiwski, 22, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. B. Wiesemann on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14092) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 28. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Ms. Babuchiwski was taken into custody in the Hollywood area and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICES: On Tuesday, September 1 at 4:52 pm, Benjamin Jay Shobert, 28, of Mechanicsville turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack. Mr. Shobert had three outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-13046; Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 20 for Possession of CDS not Marijuana, Driving on a Suspended and Revoked License, T3-13047; Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 20 for Driving on a Revoked License and T3-13048; Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 20 as a Defense Witness. There was an Arrest Warrant (T3-14095) issued by the District Court in Prince George's County on July 9, 2008. The original charge was Giving a False Statement to an Officer. Mr. Shobert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review. The above listed were served by TFC M. B. Adams and Tpr. E. J. Page.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, September 2 at 2:30 pm, James Leander Scriber, 43, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. R. L. Jackson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13997) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown for a Violation of Probation Hearing on June 16. The original charge was Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Scriber was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, September 3 at 12:46 am, Jacob Michael Wietzke, 22, of Hollywood was arrested by TFC C. M. Evans for Possession of Morphine. Mr. Wietzke was operating a black Ford Bronco on Patuxent Beach Road when he was stopped in the area of Kingston Creek Road in California for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Wietzke, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his breath. Mr. Wietzke was subsequently arrested for DWI. Mr. Wietzke was found to be in possession of a hypodermic syringe containing Morphine and a metal spoon containing burnt Morphine on his person. Mr. Wietzke was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Thursday, September 3 at 4:45 pm, Tpr. B. Wiesemann responded to the 20000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for the reported Theft under $100.00. Contact was made with the female complainant, 78, of Lexington Park who advised unknown suspect(s) stole both Maryland Registration plates from her white 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The registration plates were last observed on the vehicle on Wednesday, August 26 at approximately 12:00 pm. The registration plates were entered into NCIC and neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: Saturday, September 5 at 2:00 am, Walter McCollough Jr., 69, of Washington, DC was arrested by Tpr. R. L. Jackson on an outstanding Calvert County Bench Warrant (T3-14103) issued on November 2, 2006. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. McCollough was taken into custody on a traffic stop in Lexington Park. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served the warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, September 5 at 10:30 am, Paul Kenneth Plymire 3rd, 24, of Mechanicsville and William Earl Clinton, 31, of Abell were arrested by Cpl. J. L. Linger for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Cpl. Linger observed a brown Pontiac Grand Am on Colton Point Road and Waterloo Circle in Avenue and stopped it for an equipment violation. Mr. Plymire was found to be in possession of a glass CDS smoking device with Marijuana and he was charged accordingly. He was also issued an Safety Equipment Repair Order for the tinted windows. Mr. Clinton was found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing Cocaine. Mr. Clinton was charged accordingly and both were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY AND THEFT OVER $500: On Sunday, September 6 at 1:59 pm, TFC D. S. Brill responded to the 21000 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the reported Theft over $500.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 52, of Great Mills. She advised unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole the victim's purse. Items stolen were a black Razor cellular phone valued at $100.00, several credit cards, a music CD valued at $15.00, brown wallet, valued at $10.00, black purse valued at $30.00 a diamond wedding ring and gold band valued at $7,500.00 and $500.00 in cash. Total loss is estimated at $8,165.00. Neighborhood checks were conducted and a suspect was identified. TFC Brill and TFC E. Evans responded to the suspect's residence in the 45000 block of Foxchase Drive in Great Mills. The suspect, Paulette Daisy Fisher, 52, of Great Mills was located. TFC Brill recovered everything except for the wedding ring and gold band and the $500.00 cash. The recovered property was returned to the victim. Ms. Fisher was taken into custody and to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT OVER $500: On Sunday, September 6 at 8:15 pm, TFC R. B. Rezza responded to the 28000 block of Lockes Hill Road in Mechanicsville for the reported Theft of a fiberglass pick-up truck cap. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 36, of Mechanicsville who advised unknown suspect(s) stole the fiberglass cap from his parent's yard between Sunday, August 30 and Sunday, September 6. The investigation continues.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Monday, September 7 at 7:02 am, TFC D. S. Brill responded to the intersection of Leon Drive and Dr. Johnson Road in Mechanicsville for the reported Destruction of Property. Contact was made with the male complainant, 66, of Mechanicsville and he advised unknown suspect(s) drove across his property leaving large tire tracks across his property. It was also noted that the same vehicle drove across the property on the opposite side of Leon Drive. The investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, September 7 at 9:09 am, TFC E. M. Evans responded to the 46000 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park for the reported Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect, Ronald Stuart Pope, 46, of Lexington Park. He advised he was in a verbal argument with the female complainant, 23, of Lexington Park. After speaking with the victim, she advised the suspect was attempting to let her dog out when she blocked the door. He grabbed her by the neck when she was scratched. Mr. Pope was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Tuesday, September 8 at 1:55 am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton responded to the 23000 block of Esperanza Drive in Lexington Park for the reported Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim/complainant, 24, of Lexington Park. She advised she was assaulted by David Bryan Hatcher Jr., 27, of Lexington and he left the residence in a green Dodge truck prior to the police arriving. Mr. Hatcher was later located driving on Chancellors Run Road at Pegg Road in Great Mills and was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for questioning and processing. He was then taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Domestic Assault and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
