Waldorf Man Perishes in Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash


LA PLATA, Md. (Sept. 2, 2009)—A 24 year-old Waldorf man perished early this morning when his motorcycle struck a guard rail on Northbound Route 5 at Old Route 5 Hughesville. Police are not releasing the man's name pending family notification.

The police investigation revealed the 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling northbound on Route 5 at a high rate of speed around 40 minutes after midnight. The driver lost control and struck a guardrail. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by Tfc Newman of the Maryland State Police, La Plata Barrack.
