Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Aug. 31, 2009) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS VIOLATION: On August 27 at 9:00 p.m. Cpl. Anthony Moschetto conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a suspected drunk driver. Cpl. Moschetto subsequently arrested the driver, later identified as Bradley Francis Rivera, 46 of Lusby. He was charged with driving while intoxicated by alcohol, driving while intoxicated by drugs, possession of phencyclidine, possession of phencyclidine in sufficient quantity to indicate intent to distribute the same, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a pipe.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Thomas Rickard conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on August 27 at 7:50 p.m. on H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby near Lusby Commons. The driver and two passengers in the vehicle were all arrested after they were each found to be in possession of suspected drugs. Wilfredo Vasquez III, the driver, 25 of Lusby, was charged with possession of oxycodone. William Versone Johnson, 28 of Columbia, Md., was charged with possession of cocaine. Judith Venetia Chambers, 42 of Lusby, was charged with possession of marijuana.

BURGLARY: A sixteen-year-old male from Lusby was charged with burglary in the first, third and fourth degrees and theft over $500 after the victim of a home on Osprey Lane in Lusby advised Dep. James Morgan that her home had been burglarized more than once between July 1 of this year and August 28. After some investigation, Dep. Morgan determined that the juvenile was responsible for the burglaries and theft. More than $1400 worth of gaming devices and games were stolen. The juvenile was charged on a youth report and released to a parent.

CDS VIOLATION: On August 28 at 7:51 p.m. DFC Paul Wood conducted a traffic stop on a possible drunk driver traveling eastbound on Md. Rt. 260 just past the 7-11 Convenience store in Dunkirk. The driver, later identified as Justin L. Hewitt-Patrick, 24 of Huntingtown, was found to be driving under the influence and in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia (silver spoon containing suspected heroin) and possession of controlled paraphernalia (hypodermic syringe.) A lone passenger in the vehicle, identified as David Franklin Scruggs, 33 of Chesapeake Beach, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a silver spoon containing suspected heroin and possession of controlled paraphernalia (hypodermic syringe).

DOP: An employee at the Flag Harbor Marina in St. Leonard advised DFC James Bell that an unidentified white male was caught on videotape entering the pool area of the marina on August 28 at 10:12 p.m. and throwing chairs into the pool. At this time no damage estimate has been determined. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Bell at 410-535-2800.

DOP: Unknown suspect(s) spray painted the side of a Diplomat Recreational Vehicle (RV) while it was parked near Kellam's Field in Chesapeake Beach on August 29th in the evening hours. The damage is estimated at $4000. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Daniel Deakins at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Roscoe Kreps stopped a vehicle on August 29 at 1:47 a.m. A passenger in the vehicle, Shanan Joy Sanchez, 26 of Owings, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and was arrested and charged.
