LA PLATA, Md. (Aug. 25, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH ROBBERY AND ASSAULT: Charles County Sheriff's officers have identified and arrested a 17-year old Waldorf male and a 16-year-old male from Brandywine in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred on June 7 on St. Thomas Drive. During the robbery, the suspects assaulted the victim and stole his cell phone. A warrant has been obtained for a third suspect, Francis Jerome Butler, 25, of Waldorf. All three suspects face charges of robbery and first-degree assault. Officer Wimberly is investigating.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On Aug. 23 at 5:50 a.m., officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Superior Carpet Cleaning and Restoration at 12325 Washington Square in Waldorf. Upon arrival, officers found the garage door had been partially pried open. A K-9 officer searched the building but the suspects had already fled. The owner responded and said it did not appear anyone gained entry. Nothing was reported stolen. Officer K. Gross is investigating.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Aug. 23 at 12:58 a.m., a man entered the 7-11 located at 309 East Smallwood Drive in Waldorf, displayed a gun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled northbound on foot toward Barrington Drive. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, black mask (only eyes and forehead visible), and black wool gloves. No one was injured. Officer M. Bourgeois is investigating.
BURGLARY: Sometime between Aug. 12 - Aug. 21, unknown suspects broke into a house in the 12700 block of La Plata Road in Waldorf and stole multiple DVDs and video cassettes. Officer J.D. Rager is investigating.
