LA PLATA, Md. (Aug. 24, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

OFFICERS APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECTS: On Aug. 19 at 3:50 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 15000 block of Potomac River Drive in Cobb Island for a burglary in progress. According to a witness, the suspects were observed removing an air conditioning unit form a window and enter the house. Upon arrival, officers were given a description of the suspects who fled in a dark gray Lexus. Responding officers observed the car on Rock Point Road heading toward Crain Highway and initiated a traffic stop. The occupants, Anthony Acqua, 20, of Mechanicsville, Jonathan Edward Delozier, 21, of Port Tobacco, and Kevin Wayne Mullins, 20 of White Plains, were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary. Officers D. Behm, D. Bell and Sgt. P. Gregory made the arrests.

POLICE INVESTIGATING MOTORCYCLE THEFTS: The Charles County Sheriffs Office is investigating a series of thefts in which motorcycles were stolen. Since May, at least 13 motorcycles, mostly sport bikes, were stolen throughout the county. The thefts are occurring in the early morning hours mostly during the weekdays. Detectives believe the suspects are stealing vans, removing the bench seats and then using the vans to transport the bikes away from the scene. Anyone with any information about the thefts is asked to call Detective Schwab at (301) 609-6474 or Detective Gross at (301) 609-6488. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.

DISPUTE LEADS TO FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Aug. 16 at 3:02 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Marshall Drive in Bryans Road for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed the suspect, Anthony Ricardo Henderson, 52, of Bryans Road, drove his vehicle toward his neighbor in an attempt to strike him. The victim, who was walking down his driveway and holding an infant at the time, had to jump out of the roadway into a wooded area to avoid being struck. The victim walked back home and Henderson followed. The victim grabbed a machete and struck Henderson on the wrist. Henderson managed to wrestle the machete away and ran back to his own house and called police. Henderson was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and subsequently charged with first-degree assault. Charges against the neighbor are pending a review by the State's Attorney's Office. According to the victim, he and the suspect have been involved in an on-going dispute over allegations the victim stole vegetables from the suspect's vegetable garden. Officer J. Garner is investigating.

DEATH INVESTIGATION: On Aug. 19 at 8:26 a.m., officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the 3000 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf for the report of a three-year-old male not breathing. Upon arrival, the child, DeSean Tyrese Wade, was found unresponsive. He was transported to Civista Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The child was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed. The cause and manner of death are unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
