MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Aug. 13, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

INTERNAL THEFT: On Friday, August 7 at 4:00 pm, Tpr. M. J. Pitcher responded to the Burch Mart located at 28270 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the reported Theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, who advised she had completed an audit for the past 60 days and discovered that Patricia Michelle Elder, 19, of Mechanicsville was stealing money from the establishment for the past two months. Ms. Elder was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was incarcerated pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. She was charged with Theft over $500.00 and Theft Scheme over $500.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, August 8 at 5:00 am, Jose Luis Turcios, Jr., 29, of Hyattsville was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson. Mr. Turcios had two outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-14068) for Failing to Appear in the District Court in Montgomery County on November 23, 2006. The original charge was Driving While Intoxicated. The second Bench Warrant (T3-14069) issued by the District Court in Montgomery County on October 23, 2006. The original charge was Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation for DWI. Mr. Turcios was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, August 10 at 7:52 am, Thomas Dale Nelson, 31, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. R. L. Jackson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14066) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 4. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended and Revoked Driver's License. Mr. Nelson turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack where he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, August 10 at 5:24 pm, Marlo Lionel Herbert, 31, of Loveville was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13982) for Failing to Appear in District Court on June 3. The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree and Mr. Herbert was taken into custody at a residence in the 20000 block of Point Lookout Road in Callaway. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: - On Monday, August 10 at 11:45 pm, Paul Solomon Smallwood, Jr., 51, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty for Theft of Maryland Registration Expiration sticker. Tpr. Hardesty initiated a traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Pegg Road in Lexington Park on a Black Nissan Altima for an equipment violation. A routine check of through MVA revealed the Maryland registration plates had expired June 2009. The plate was displaying an expiration sticker 2010. A routine check through NCIC revealed the expiration sticker was reported stolen on July 3. Mr. Smallwood was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Theft under $100 and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT OVER $500 - On Tuesday, August 11 at 4:00 pm, TFC J. G. Fleetwood responded to the 24000 block of Maypole Road in Leonardtown for the reported Theft over $500.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 73, of Leonardtown who advised unknown subject entered her residence between July 21 and August 11 and stole approximately $700.00 cash from a purse inside the residence. The investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, August 11 at 8:45 pm, Alan Tim Moore, Sr., 31, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. G. Fleetwood on two outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-14077 and T3-14078) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on January 14. Another Bench Warrant (T3-13731) issued by the Circuit Court in Leonardtown on December 2, 2008 was also served on Mr. Moore. The original charges were Driving without a License. Mr. Moore was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, August 12 at 2:15 pm, Charles Arnett Weaver, 20, of Upper Marlboro was arrested by Tpr. W. S. Jefferson on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-14081) issued by the District Court in Frederick County on May 30. The original charges on the warrant were four counts each of Theft under $500.00 and Possession/Issue Forged Currency. Mr. Weaver was taken into custody while at the District Court in Leonardtown and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
