MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Aug. 12, 2009) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) Tuesday released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On August 3 at 9:56 p.m., Trooper West responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Hidden Creek Rd., Port Republic, for a reported assault. Michael A. Sweeney, 30 of Port Republic, was arrested for assault and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On August 4 at 12:14 a.m., Trooper Lewis stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at NB Rt. 4 south of Skinners Turn Rd. Ibrahim P. Ngauja, 19 of Hyattsville, and passenger, Abu B. Kamara, 24 of Lanham were arrested for possession of marijuana. They were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On August 5 at 10:19 p.m., Trooper West responded to a residence in the 12800 block of Abilene Trail, Lusby, for a reported assault. Bradley J. Carey, 29 of Lusby, was arrested for assault. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

THEFT: On August 8 at 8:43 a.m., Trooper First Class Dawson was contacted by a victim of theft from a yard sale. Two unknown suspects had purchased items from the victim and then returned to discuss purchasing additional items. The suspects loaded these items into a trailer and drove off without paying for them. The trailer was pulled by a white mini-van. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at 410-535-1400.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE: On August 9 at 3:09 p.m., Corporal White attempted to stop a reported stolen vehicle. The driver continued at a high rate of speed, and subsequently had an accident. The occupants of the vehicle, both juveniles, were arrested for traffic and criminal offenses.
