St. Mary's County BCI Police Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 21, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On Tuesday, July 21, David Matthew Morley, age 30 of Leonardtown, was charged with second degree assault on a criminal summons. On July 3, suspect Morley assaulted Gudlaug Hanna Lytle at 22477 MacArthur Blvd. in California.

BURGLARIES ARREST: On July 16, BCI detectives—investigating over 22 total daytime burglaries occurring from Ridge to Mechanicsville between the dates of May 27 through July 15—arrested Anita L. Shriver, age 29 from Lexington Park. Shriver was charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of theft, and two counts of property destruction. The charges were a result of burglaries in Mechanicsville and California area of St. Mary's County. Additional charges are pending the completion of the investigation and a review by the State's Attorney's Office.

On Friday, July 17, members of BCI, along with Tpr. Pitcher from the Leonardtown Barrack, gathered additional information about the burglaries. Two additional suspects, Thomas Andrew Tolson, of Mechanicsville, and Brian Robert Flynn II, of Mechanicsville, were identified. They were charged with 1st degree burglary and theft under $500. They were incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Additional charges are pending a review with the States Attorney's Office.

BCI is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown.
