MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (July 13, 2009) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 26 at approximately 1120 hours, Corporal M. Cox was working stationary laser assignment on northbound Route 5, south of Pinefield Road when he observed a 2006 Toyota Scion traveling at a high rate of speed. Cpl. Cox stopped the vehicle, made contact with the driver and detected the odor of marijuana. The passenger, Carlos Juan Hernandez Jr., 24 years, of Severn, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 29 at approximately 1207 hours, Trooper A. Watson was working stationary laser at northbound MD Route 5 and Post Office Road when he observed a Toyota Scion stopped with its rear bumper approximately 2 feet in front of the white stop line causing the vehicle to protrude into the intersection. Trooper Watson made contact with the driver, Michael Brandon Dodson, age 18, of Waldorf, and detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Dodson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On June 30 at approximately 1245 hours, Trooper B. Sorenson was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Route 228 and Route 301. Trooper Sorenson made contact with the at-fault driver Christina Granados McCauley, age 50, of Leonardtown. McCauley was charged with possession of CDS, heroin, and drug paraphernalia.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 30 at approximately 1725 hours, Trooper W. Posey was on routine patrol traveling northbound on St. Charles Parkway, south of Route 5, when he observed the driver of a Ford Taurus not restrained by a seat belt. Trooper Posey stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Stephon Ricardo Ingram, age 19, of Waldorf, and his passenger Tabitha Denise Stoudemire, age 22, of Waldorf, when he detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Ingram and Stoudemire were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On July 7 at approximately 0005 hours, Trooper B. Sorenson served a warrant on Jory James Kraft, age 23, of Waldorf, for failing to appear for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana. Kraft was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
