MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 10, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, July 6 at 11:30 pm, Shavion Artigo Mackall, 30, of Great Mills was arrested by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13990) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 9. The original charges were Driving on a Suspended and Revoked License and DUI. Ms. Mackall is being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending her initial appearance before the District Court.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Tuesday, July 7 at 1:00 pm, Jonathan Michael Rathbun, 29, of California was arrested by Tpr. C. M. Evans for one count of Theft under $500.00, two counts of Credit Card Theft, one count of Credit Card Fraud under $100.00 and three counts of Credit Card Fraud under $500.00. Tpr. Evans responded to the Pro Fitness Gym located at 23415 Three Notch Road in California for the reported Theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male victim, 57, of Mechanicsville who advised Mr. Rathbun was seen removing credit cards and money from the victim's wallet. The suspect left the gym on foot and used a motorized scooter to flee from the scene. He was later sighted and apprehended at the Food Lion store in California. Mr. Rathbun was found to be in possession of $138.00 which was taken from the victim's wallet. He was also in possession of several gift cards which he purchased using the victim's credit and debit cards. Mr. Rathbun was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Tuesday, July 7 at 4:17 pm, TFC M. A. Koock responded to the Park Sunoco at 22352 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for the reported Theft of gas. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 46, of California who advised Sherry Ann Baker, 55, of Lexington Park pumped $14.00 in gas and failed to pay for the gas. TFC Koock responded to the suspect's residence and issued her a Criminal Citation with a Preliminary Inquiry date for appearing in Court. The investigation continues.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Wednesday, July 8 at 2:26 am, Tpr. J. C. Hardesty responded to the 41000 block of Norris Street in Leonardtown for the reported Disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim, 45, of Leonardtown who advised she and her 14 year old son were arguing when he kicked out the bottom plate glass in the front door and broke the glass. He then picked up his bike and throwing it at the upper glass portion of the door and then fled the scene on his bicycle. The juvenile responded to the Leonardtown Barrack on his bicycle and was met there by Tpr. Hardesty. After being interviewed he was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and released to his grandmother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: On Wednesday, July 8 at 5:20 pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton responded to the 43000 block of Medley's Neck Road in Leonardtown for the reported Residential Burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 43, of Leonardtown who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized her residence and stole a five gallon water bottle containing and estimated $4,000.00 in assorted coins. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, July 8 at 7:00 pm, Emory Hughley III, 56, of District Heights was arrested by TFC J. G. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13942) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 8. The original charges were Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance - not Marijuana, Removing Prescription Label from medication bottle, Driving on a Suspended license and Exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Hughley was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
