MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 29, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Thursday, June 25 at 1:10 am, Tpr. J. Pilkerton was working stationary radar on Great Mills Road, in the area of Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park, when Tpr. Pilkerton observed two young boys riding bicycles down the middle of Great Mills Road and he heard a loud noise. It appeared one of the boys threw an object at a freezer sitting in the parking lot at St. Mary's Golf Center. Tpr. Pilkerton contacted both individuals and identified both of the juveniles and released them. Tpr. Pilkerton returned to the Golf Center and observed a glass door of the freezer shattered. Tpr. Pilkerton returned back to where the juvenile boys advised the lived. Contact was made with them and one of the juvenile boys admitted throwing the stone breaking the glass. The 14 year old boy from Lexington Park was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Thursday, June 25 at 2:47 pm, Tpr. R. Jackson responded to the 21000 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the reported attempted theft under $500. Tpr. Jackson made contact with the female complainant, 54, of St. Inigoes. She advised she had her van parked off Great Mills Road selling hard crabs. She further advised an unknown black male, between the age of 30-50, approx. 5'6" and 165 lbs attempted to steal a bushel of crabs. The suspect was last seen wearing white "T" shirt, kahki pants and white tennis shoes. He grabbed a bushel of crabs and attempted to flee on foot. The victim grabbed the bushel of crabs and the male suspect released them and continued to flee on foot. The victim advised the suspect has been seen in the area previously and also stole a bushel of crabs from her in the past. The investigation continues.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Sunday, June 28 at 5:48 pm, TFC K. Lashley responded to the 42000 block of Bird Haven Way in Leonardtown for the reported theft of mailbox and post. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 57, of Leonardtown who advised he discovered his mailbox was stolen at approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday when his mail was placed on the front porch by the mail carrier. It was last seen Friday evening, June 26, 2009. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sunday, June 28 at 11:29 pm, Tpr J. Pilkerton responded to the 38000 block of Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, age 31 of Mechanicsville. She advised she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend, 35, of Mechanicsville. He agreed to leave and took some personal property. The boyfriend advised he would need to return to pick up his work vehicle. When he returned about an hour later, he discovered his girlfriend had removed some of his clothes from the residence and began burning them. He called the police and Tpr. Pilkerton responded back to the residence and observed the burning of the clothes. The boyfriend removed his work vehicle and the investigation continues.
