MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 26, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) Thursday released the following incident and arrest reports.

PROPERTY DAMAGE TO MAILBOX: On Wednesday, June 17 at 11:16 am, Tpr. J. Gibson responded to the 45000 block of Norris Road in Great Mills for the reported malicious destruction of property to a mailbox. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 69, of Great Mills. She advised she went to get her mail at 11:00 am when she discovered the front door on the mailbox was taken. She also advised a couple months ago, unknown suspects removed the red flag from the side of the mailbox. This information was confirmed through a Postal Service employee. The investigation continues and neighborhood checks were completed with negative results.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 15 at 4:49 pm, Harry Roderick Derricote, 42, of Coltons Point was arrested by Tpr. R. Jackson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12726) for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $557.50 to the District Court by January 31, 2007. Mr. Derricote was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT OVER $500: On Sunday, June 21 at 3:04 pm, Tpr. J. Gibson responded to the 29000 block of Whalen Road in Leonardtown for the reported theft of two ATVs and a generator. Contact was made with the complainant, 37, of Leonardtown. He described the ATVs as one being a red 2001 Honda Rancher 350 4x4, VIN is unknown and is valued at $4,000.00. The other ATV is a blue 2007 Honda TRX 500 4x4, VIN 1HFTE26047602166 and valued at $5,000.00. The generator is described as a Titan T 12hp model G8500RG, serial #RCG001023 and valued at $4,360.00. Total estimated loss is $13,360.00. The complainant advised the generator was last seen approximately 3 - 4 weeks ago. He also advised that his father had the two ATVs stolen sometime after March 1, 2009. The investigation is ongoing.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, June 21 at 11:30 pm, Tyrone Darnell Butler, 38, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for Possession of Cocaine. Mr. Butler was operating a silver Ford Taurus on Three Notch Road, in the area of Kimberly Lane in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Butler, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Butler was found to be in possession of Cocaine. Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 22 at 3:00 pm, Michael Paul Weber, 27, of Loveville was arrested by TFC M. Grimes on an outstanding Circuit Court Grand Jury Indictment (T3-13981) for Burglary 1st Degree. Mr. Weber was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held pending his court appearance.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Monday, June 22 at 3:45 am, Tpr. C. Evans responded to the 41000 block of Norris Street in Leonardtown for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 10, of Leonardtown. He advised a male juvenile, 14, of Leonardtown was at his residence and went home to get a remote control car. When the juvenile returned to the victim's residence the front door was locked. The male suspect then kicked the screen door causing approximately $50.00 damage to the door. The 14 year-old juvenile was returned to his residence and released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

BURGLARY: On Monday, June 22 at 10:41 am, Tpr. M. Koock responded to the 22000 block of Scott Circle in Lexington Park for the reported burglary and theft over $500. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 34, of Lusby. He advised the residence is under construction and unknown suspect(s) entered the residence between Friday, June 19, 2009 after 4:00 pm and 8:30 am on Monday, June 22, 2009. The suspect(s) entered the residence through the basement and removed the York HVAC 2 ½ ton Gas Furnace. In removing the furnace, the suspect(s) failed to turn off the water supply causing approximately $2,000.00 in damage to the drywall, hot water tank and other construction supplies being stored in the basement. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation continues.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Sunday, June 21 at 11:38 am, TFC J. Stern responded to Spring Valley Drive in Lexington Park for the reported Theft from Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, TFC Stern made contact with the male complainant, 25, of Charlotte Hall who advised unknown suspect(s) stole $250.00, a prescription bottle of Xanax containing 90 pills and a pack of Maverick cigarettes. The items were taken from his Chevrolet S-10 sometime during Saturday evening between the hours of 10:00 pm and Sunday morning. The investigation is still ongoing.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: On Tuesday, June 23 at 6:31 pm, TFC M. Adams responded to the 24000 block of Ann Lane in California for the reported burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 52, of California and advised unknown suspect(s) forced entry through the rear door of the residence. Once inside the suspect(s) stole a plastic 5 gallon water bottle filled with approximately $4,000.00 in various coins and then left the residence. Neighborhood checks were conducted and the investigation is ongoing.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, June 24 at 1:22 pm, Tpr. M. Koock responded to the Family Dollar store in Leonardtown for the reported theft in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 56, of Clements who had detained the suspect, Allison Meg Williams, 45, of Lexington Park for stealing items from the store. Recovered from her person were a bottle of hair mousse and hair ties totaling $3.25. Ms. Williams was issued a No Trespass Notice for the store and a Criminal Citation. She was released at the scene pending her appearance in court in July 2009.
