Paul Comfort Replaced by the Man He Replaced
WALDORF, Md. (June 23, 2009) - The Charles County administrator, Paul W. Comfort, was terminated today effective July 3, according to a statement released today by the Board of County Commissioners. The commissioners did not provide a reason for the termination, other than saying they exercised their "option to terminate the County Administrators at-will employment with the County, in accordance with the County Administrators Terms of Appointment."
Assistant to the County Administrator Roy E. Hancock will serve as Acting County Administrator until a successor is chosen by the commissioners. Comfort originally assumed the helm from Hancock on May 22, 2007. Hancock had then been serving as interim county administrator since October 2005.
Comfort was originally hired on at an annual salary of $165,000.
