LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 21, 2009)—John Barnes, Executive Director, American Civil Liberties Union for the National Capital Area, will be the keynote speaker at a Community Awareness Event hosted by the St. Mary's County Human Relations Commission, on June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Cole Cinema at St. Mary's College. Admission is free.
Barnes will be addressing the "Impact of President Barack Obama on Civil Rights during his first 200 Days."
Barnes is a former Congressional Legislative Counsel and Chief of Staff, former Political Director for D.C. Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly, and former Law Professor, Georgetown Law Center.
