Vallandingham Named St. Mary's History Day Teacher of the Year


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 21, 2009) - Anne Vallandingham, a teacher at Chopticon High School, has been named History Day Teacher of the Year for St. Mary's County Public Schools.

History Day is a national program that promotes the study of history while providing a forum at which students compete for excellence in one of several categories: documentary, performance, exhibit, website, and historical paper. Students are divided into a junior and senior group. The junior division consists of grades six through eight, while the senior division consists of grades nine through twelve.
