LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 10, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On June 9 at 3:00 p.m. deputies responded to a business parking lot in Lexington Park for the report of an assault. Investigation by Cpl. Connelly revealed the 39 year-old male victim was involved in a verbal dispute with Nicole A. Kelly, age 23 of Lexington Park, over a cell phone. Kelly then proceeded to place a lit cigarette on the back of the victim's neck. Kelly was placed under arrest, charged with Assault 2nd Degree and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
SHOPLIFTING: On June 9 at 3:30 p.m. Jolie M. Allen, age 31 of Lexington Park, entered the J.C. Penney store in California and was observed by an employee placing multiple items inside a large purse she was carrying and attempted to exit the store without rendering payment for the items. Allen was stopped in the parking lot and returned to the store. Allen was issued a criminal citation for theft under $500 and released on her personal recognizance pending a hearing in District Court.
