LA PLATA, Md. (June 9, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
MAN CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On June 8 at 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of Ted Bowling Road in Hughesville for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed Tyrone Keith Goldring, 18, slashed his brother on the arm with a box cutter during an argument inside their house. The victim, 21, was transported to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Goldring was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. Officer M. Bourgeois made the arrest.
DRUG ARREST: On June 7 at 10:05 p.m., a citizen flagged down an officer in the 3300 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf and reported suspected drug activity. The officer obtained a description of the suspect and located him nearby. As the officer approached, the suspect attempted to run. After a brief struggle, he was subdued and placed under arrest. Officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on his person. Terry Patrick Thomas, 34, of Ripley, was charged with possession of drugs, resisting arrest and second-degree assault. Officer T. Yates made the arrest.
ASSAULT: On June 7 at 3:40 a.m., officers responded to the area of Amberleaf Place in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male, 17, who had stab wounds to his leg and buttock. The male was transported to hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries. At about the same time, officers received a call to respond to a nearby convenience store for the report of a citizen robbery and assault. The victim, a 17-year-old male, reported that he was walking on St. Thomas Drive in Waldorf when he was approached by three unknown subjects who assaulted him and stole his cell phone. As he was being assaulted, the victim retrieved a knife from his pocket and stabbed one of the suspects. The suspects fled and the victim ran to a nearby store where he called police. Officers located a crime scene and found evidence consistent with the victim's account. The investigation is continuing.
BURGLARY AT VACANT HOUSE: Between May 22 and June 6, unknown suspects broke into a vacant house that was being remodeled in the 3900 block of Brewster Court in Waldorf and stole tools. The scene was processed for evidence.
