PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. June 3, 2009 Eating fresh and eating local will be easier than ever this year at three Calvert County farmers market locations.
Offering a host of Southern Maryland produce, the Calvert County markets are now open on the following days:
-- Solomons, Thursdays, 4-8 p.m., through November 19
-- North Beach, Fridays, 6-9 p.m., through October 2
-- Prince Frederick, Saturdays, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., through November 28
Early spring markets include bedding plants (vegetable, herbs and flowers), hanging baskets and tasty salad greens, radishes, asparagus and strawberries. Markets will include many of the favorite vendors from last year with plenty of fresh produce, baked goods and cut flowers.
