MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 8, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 6:25 pm, Kristel King, 25, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. J. A. Pilkerton on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13938) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 7, 2009. The original charge was Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance - Not Marijuana. Ms. King was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:30 am, Michael Darnell Holt, 35, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson on a Grand Jury Indictment (T3-13946) issued by the Circuit Court of Leonardtown on May 11, 2009. The original charge was Reckless Endangerment. Mr. Holt was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center without incident. He was being held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 12:15 pm, Shannon Leigh Arthur, 38, of California was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13965) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 26, 2009. The original charge was Driving Without a License. Ms. Arthur turned herself in at the Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:05 pm, Tpr. C. Evans responded to the Wal-Mart Store in California for the reported Theft under $100.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the Loss Prevention Officer who had detained a 13 year-old male of Lexington Park and a 17 year-old female fled on foot. The male suspect had attempted to steal three silicone I-Pod cases valued at $8.36. He was released at the scene to his mother. The female juvenile stole a bottle of Lip Gloss valued at $8.99. Later, Tpr. Evans received a phone call from the father of the female suspect, reporting that his daughter had a stolen bottle of lip gloss in her possession. Tpr. C. Evans responded to their residence in California and she was also charged with Theft Under $100.00 and released to her father. Petitions are being forwarded to Juvenile Services charging both juveniles with Theft Under $100.00.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:55 pm, Tpr. W. Jefferson responded to the Giant Food Store in the First Colony shopping center for the reported theft under $500.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 60, of California. She advised she had taken the groceries to her vehicle when an unknown white male, in early 20's stole her wallet from her purse which was still in the shopping cart and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white male, early 20's, approximately 5'8" and 200 lbs. He had a goatee and light complexion. The investigation is ongoing.

THEFT UNDER $500: On Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:13 pm, Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the Wal-Mart Store in California for the reported theft in progress with shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, contact was made with the Loss Prevention Officer who advised he had detained Scott Kenneth Binkney, 45, of Ridge for stealing $156.11 in meat and canned goods. Mr. Binkney was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE: On Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:33 am, TFC M. Adams responded to the 23000 block of Castillia Way in California for the reported theft of motor vehicle. Upon arrival, TFC Adams made contact with the male complainant, 27, of Mechanicsville, who advised he last saw his blue 1989 Chevrolet S10 with a white cap, Maryland registration (21R777) at 11:00 pm the night before. When he woke up the next morning he discovered that his vehicle was gone from where he parked the truck. The truck has been entered in NCIC. Neighborhood checks are being conducted and the investigation continues.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 7:59 pm, Tpr. C. Evans responded to the 18000 block of Point Lookout Road in Park Hall for the malicious destruction of property to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 52, of Park Hall. She advised unknown suspect(s) shot a BB gun and cracked the windshield on her blue 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. Neighborhood checks are being conducted and the investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, June 7, 2009 at 2:31 am, TFC M. Moore assisted a St. Mary's County Sheriff's deputy on a traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Clarks Landing Road in Hollywood. It was learned that John Otha Dickens, Jr., 18, of Ridge was in the vehicle and a routine check through NCIC revealed there was an open Bench Warrant (T3-13983) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 4, 2009. The original charge was Driving without a License. Mr. Dickens was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
