LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 1, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On November 13, 2008, Judge C. Clark Raley issued a protective order, ordering no contact by any means between the petitioner/victim and Jeremiah Jerrad Watson. On May 29, 2009, Jeremiah Watson, 32, currently incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center, attempted to contact her daughter by having a relative send a message via Myspace in violation of the protective order. Jeremiah Johnson was charged with violating a protective order.
SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: Dfc. K. Meyer was investigating a noise/domestic complaint on Hilton Drive in Lexington Park when he met Gokhan Donald Illhan Oztas, 25, of Hollywood. Dfc. Meyer noticed Mr. Oztas had a prescription bottle in his possession, which did not have a label. Mr. Oztas appeared to be intoxicated and began cursing loudly at Dfc. Meyer, which drew the attention of others in the area. Mr. Oztas was told he was under arrest for disorderly conduct and possession of a prescription without a label. Oztas refused to comply with the arrest and resisted. Zehra Senel Oztas, 22, of Hollywood and John Raymond Milburn, III, 29, of Lexington Park, hindered Dfc. Meyer's arrest of Gokhan Oztas. Zehra Oztas and John Milburn were arrested and charged with hindering and disorderly conducted. As the deputies were arresting Zehra Oztas and John Milburn, Gokhan Oztas attempted to runaway from the deputies. After a short chase, Gokhan was stopped. Gokhan Oztas was also charged with attempted escape.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On May 18, a final protective order was issued by Judge Karen Abrams ordering Leroy Joseph Bush, 54 of Lexington Park, to have no contact with the petitioner of the order. On May 30, the petitioner notified the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office that Bush attempted to contact her by driving by a residence where she was visiting, blocking her vehicle in the driveway and honking the horn of his vehicle to gain her attention. Bush was located at his residence and arrested to violating the condition of the protective order.
SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 30, deputies responded to Willows Oak Court in California for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Paul Jeffrey Lee, II, 34 of California, Maryland was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim, which escalated into a physical assault when Lee struck the victim several times.
SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 31, deputies responded to a residence on Great Mills Road for a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed Wendell NMN Kinney, 24 of Great Mills, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim, which escalated into a physical assault when Kinney grabbed the victim, held a screw driver to the victim's abdomen and threatened to stab her. The victim was able to break free from Kinney and called 911. Kinney was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 31, deputies responded to Skyview Drive in Mechanicsville or a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed Robert Edward Cecil III, 26 of Mechanicsville, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim, which escalated into a physical assault when Cecil struck the victim in the face. Cecil was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
