Portion of Stoakley Road in P.F. Will Close for Bridge Replacement

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 1, 2009) -– The Calvert County, Md., Department of Public Works will close a portion of Stoakley Road in Prince Frederick beginning June 15, 2009, to replace a bridge spanning Mill Creek.

The bridge replacement project will occur over a period of eight to 10 weeks. Stoakley Road will be closed in the vicinity of the Mill Creek Bridge only. Motorists will be able to use Stoakley Road from MD Route 2/4 for access to points east of the bridge. Points west and south of the bridge may be accessed via MD Route 231 and Barstow Road. Detour signs will direct motorists to alternate routes.

The $209,000 project will include replacement of the bridge deck and parapet walls. The parapets will feature ornate rails to replicate the 1930’s style of the existing structure.
