St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 30, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On May 28 at 9:15 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of a burglary in progress. Investigation revealed Christopher A. Prince, age 30, of Lexington Park, attempted to gain entry into his former girlfriend's residence by forcing open a bedroom window. The victim heard Prince opening the window and confronted him at which time Prince pulled a window shade and curtain from the window. Prince then struck the victim with the curtain rod causing a laceration to her arm. The victim was able to obtain a canister of pepper spray and sprayed Prince in the facial area. Prince then fled the area, but was located by Deputy K. Meyer and placed under arrest without incident. Prince was subsequently charged with First Degree Burglary, Assault 2nd Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

KIDNAPPING, BURGLARY, ASSAULT, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, DWI, DUI: On May 27 at 9:44 p.m. deputies responded to the report of a disturbance in Bushwood. Investigation revealed Joseph L. Quade 3rd, age 39, of Clements, kicked open the front door of the victim's residence, entered and began assaulting the victim before forcing the victim to exit the residence and enter Quade's vehicle. Quade then threatened the victim if she called police. Quade then drove away from the residence with the victim in the vehicle. Quade continued to assault the victim while she was in the vehicle by striking her with a beer can and hitting her in the head and side with his fist. In the area of Crampton Road, the victim was able to exit the vehicle and flee on foot. Quade pursued the victim and was able to catch her where he continued to kick her in the head and chest area then forcing her back inside the vehicle. Cpl. Trossbach, while responding to the scene, observed the vehicle and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. Quade continued to flee and was subsequently stopped and placed under arrest by Deputy E. Croyle. The victim was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where she was treated and released for injuries sustained during the incident. Quade was subsequently charged with Kidnapping, Assault 2nd Degree, First Degree Burglary, False Imprisonment, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While under the Influence of Alcohol and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
