LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 28, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
FALSE STATEMENT TO A POLICE OFFICER: On May 27, Deputy Croyle responded to Stone's Store in Mechanicsville for a report of a robbery. Deputy Croyle met Earl Joseph Lee, 19 of Mechanicsville, who told the deputy an unknown person in a gray Dodge truck picked him up near Wicomico Shores, threatened to beat him, and stole money from his person. Further investigation revealed Lee lied about being robbed and had actually loaned to money to another person. Lee was charged with making a false statement to a police officer.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On May 28 at approximately 1:30 am, Deputy M. Boyer was conducting a patrol check of the Lexington Village Apartment. The sheriff's office has received complaints of suspicious activity and possible controlled dangerous substance violations. Deputy Boyer observed Kevin Antionne Makle, 26 of Mechanicsville, seated in a vehicle in the parking lot. When Deputy Boyer shined the spotlight on Makle's vehicle, Makle appeared to be moving objects around. Makle then attempted to quickly exit the vehicle. Deputy Boyer approached and noticed a folding knife on the center console. Deputy Boyer also observed a marijuana blunt sitting in the front passenger seat. Makle was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
