LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (Dec. 10, 2008)—We have had a steady stream of rockfish caught in the bay all week. The fish are hitting in the bay and up the Potomac in good quantities. Trolled umbrella rigs both white and green are the favorite lures.
The fish bite on the change of tide. Early morning is best.
When the sun is high the planer boards work best as the fish scatter from the boat disturbance, and the lures presented away from the motor wash and boat wake are most attractive to the rockfish.
The great fishing should last until New Year's Eve.
