LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 4, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ASSAULT: On Monday, December 1, 2008 at 9:32 pm, Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the 27000 block of Jeannie Court in Mechanicsville for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 61, of Mechanicsville. She advised she was assaulted by Thomas Patrick Reddington, 63, of Mechanicsville. Both parties were interviewed and Mr. Reddington was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Reddington was charged with 2nd degree assault and was held pending a bond review.
THEFT OF STEAKS: On Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 5:45 pm, Michael Darnell Thompson, 44, of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson for theft under $500. At 5:30 pm, Mr. Thompson was inside McKay's Store on Hollywood and observed concealing items in his shirt. When he exited the store he was observed placing the stolen items in the back of his tan Toyota truck. As a lookout was provided by the St. Mary's Emergency Communications, Tpr. Gresko observed and initiated a traffic stop on Point Lookout Road, in the area of Moakley Street in Leonardtown on the vehicle. Mr. Thompson had in his possession steaks from the meat department. Total cost of the steaks was $146.52. Mr. Thompson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, December 1, 2008 at 5:44 am, William J. Johnson, Jr., 52, of St Leonard was arrested by TFC K. Lashley on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13502) for failing to appear in Circuit Court on July 11, 2008. The original charge was driving under the influence. Mr. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 12:20 am, Demont William Jordan, 28, of Washington, DC was arrested by Tpr. M. Koock on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-11853) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown December 5, 2005. The original charge was driving on a suspended license.
WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 9:10 pm, Lloyd Jack Carpenter, 24, of Lexington Park, was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-12583) for violation of probation. The original charge was as a result of being arrested for DUI on July 8, 2006 and failing to appear in District Court on September 21, 2006. Mr. Carpenter was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
