Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Nov. 24, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Robert Traas stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on November 19 at 10:08 p.m. in the area of 1st Street and D Street in Chesapeake Beach. The passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Melana Lynn Giles, 19, of North Beach, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. She was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, used to weigh marijuana for packaging and selling.

BURGLARY: A home on Armory Road in Prince Frederick was burglarized on November 20th at around 8:30 p.m. A color television was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl. Gary Shrawder at 410-535-2800.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: Dep. Roscoe Kreps responded to the parking lot of Applebee's Restaurant at 8:13 p.m. on November 21 for a theft and destruction of property to a motor vehicle. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had broken out the window of their vehicle, causing $250 in damage. A Verizon cell phone charger valued at $30 was taken. Dep. Kreps then responded to the parking lot of Neibauer Dental at 205 Steeple Chase Drive in Prince Frederick at 8:22 p.m. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had smashed the window of her truck causing $200 in damage. Nothing was taken. Dep. Kreps then responded to the parking lot of the Apex Cinemas in Prince Frederick for a theft and destruction of property call at 9:08 p.m. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had broken the driver's side window of his vehicle and stolen a Garmin GPS valued at $300. MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: Sgt. Richard McCourt investigated a vehicle theft which occurred on November 20 at about 2:00 p.m. A 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, black metallic colored with a "T" top and chrome wheels, valued at over $6000, was removed from the side of the road on northbound Md. Rt. 4 just south of Calvert Beach Road in St. Leonard. Two men, both white, one with a white beard, were seen loading the vehicle onto a car trailer that was being pulled by a full size pick-up truck, possibly dual-wheeled. The men were not authorized to take possession of the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. McCourt at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole the Cove of Calvert wooden neighborhood sign that was posted on Cove Lake Road and Hatteras Lane in Lusby.
