MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 24, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 1:05 am, Kwam`e Dewane Barnes, 19, of Prince Frederick was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Barnes was operating a blue Chevrolet Lumina northbound Three Notch Road, in the area of Pegg Road in Lexington Park when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Mr. Barnes and a moderate odor of Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Barnes was found to be in possession of cloth containing Marijuana and a partially burnt Marijuana cigarette. Mr. Barnes was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS, DUI: On Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:21 pm, Carlton Glenn Moyer, 46, of Lusby was arrested by TFC E. Evans for Possession of Cocaine. Mr. Moyer was operating a gray Ford Taurus when he was stopped on Three Notch Road, in the area of Town Creek Drive in Lexington Park for failing to drive in a single lane. Mr. Moyer was found to be in possession of a small glass tube containing Cocaine. He was also arrested for DUI. Mr. Moyer was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 12:44 am, Garrett Ignatius Bond, 21, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Bond was operating a silver Toyota Corolla on westbound Colton Point Road in the area of Budds Creek Road, in Clements when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Mr. Bond and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Bond was found to be in possession of two partially burnt Marijuana cigars, two green plastic bags containing Marijuana and a purple cigar tube containing burnt Marijuana. Mr. Bond was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 8:25 pm, a male juvenile, 17, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. The juvenile was a passenger in a black Toyota Corolla when they were stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with both the driver and the male juvenile passenger and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. The male juvenile was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device with Marijuana. He was taken into custody and later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 6:30 am, Devon Raquel Mays-Word, 28, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Ms. Mays-Word was operating a black Chrysler Sebring on Patuxent Beach Road in the area of Oak Drive, in California when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Ms. Mays-Word and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A partially burnt Marijuana cigarette was founding her possession in a purple cigar tube. Ms. Mays-Word was taken in custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. While at the Detention Center, a secondary search revealed she had a Marijuana cigarette on her person. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS: On Thursday, November 20, 2008, Grand Jury Indictments for 1st Degree Burglary charges were issued on Glenn Charles Gray, Jr., 20, of St. Inigoes, Dawn Liv Taylor, 18, and Randy Aloysius Norris, 24, both of Hollywood. The Indictments were served by TFC M. Moore on November 21, 2008 at the St. Mary's Detention Center on Mr. Gray, where he was incarcerated on related charges. Mr. Norris and Ms. Taylor were located at their residence, taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were served their Indictments without incident.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, November 21, 2008 at 5:30 pm, Christopher Lee Goldsborough, 21, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13713) for 1st Degree Burglary. Mr. Goldsborough was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 1:35 pm, James Matthew Dotson, 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC J. Stern on a Bench Warrant (T3-13687) for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $307.50 to the District Court in Leonardtown. The original charge was Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Dotson was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
